Time...

"Know the true value of time, snatch, seize and enjoy every moment of it."

Time is certainly fleeting isn't it? I can't believe that my little "newborn" daughter is already 7 weeks old! I can't believe that in a couple of weeks I will be one year closer to 30. I can't believe my "baby boy" is going to be 3 in a little over a month. I tell you, if there is anything in the world that teaches the true value of time it has to be children. They grow up so fast and become independent so quickly. There are so many things that my little boy just doesn't need me for anymore and can do on his own. In thinking of how quickly they grow and how fast the time slips away I have to be grateful for my love of scrapbooking. To be given the opportunity to preserve these memories and immortalize these moments is a great gift! I'm excited to know that we as a family will be able to look back on these fleeting young years and be able to enjoy "every" moment that defined them!

The sunshine follows the rain

Under the storm and the cloud today,
and today the hard peril and pain -
tomorrow the stone shall be rolled away,
for the sunshine shall follow the rain.
-Joaquin Miller (1839-1913)
American Poet

The sunshine does indeed follow the rain. Not only metaphorically but literally as well.
Yesterday while I was doing some work at the scrapbook store I began to hear strange noises outside. No sooner had I realized those noises were thunder than there was a torrential downpour outside the window. The rain came hard, fast and unexpected. It lasted quite forcefully for 15 or 20 minutes and then let up a bit but continued to gently rain the rest of the night. Today is a bright and sunny (although a little chilly) day. The sunshine does indeed follow the rain.

I can't say that life has been "cloudy" or "rainy" for me at all lately. But there have been a fair share of times that "life" (as it is) has hit rather hard, fast and unexpected. There are times when the warning thunders of life proceed the storms of it but just as many times that the storm hits with no warning. Often these storms have seemed to last for only a short time and then they gently give way to the warming light of the sun. So to you I say, the sunshine does indeed follow the rain.

Be Happy!

How Can It Get Any Better Than This?

Pretty Little Girl

Tender and precious moments seem to be too few and far between in our world today. Sometimes the simplest things help you to realize how good life really is.

How Fortunate I feel to have been given this tender moment with my newbornd daughter asleep in my lap. She is so sweet and adorable that I couldn't help but take the chance to immortalize this moment I had to spend with her. A short tender moment where she helped me to realize that life just doesn't get any better than this.

My First Thought...

Don't walk in front of me,
I may not follow;

Don't walk behind me,
I may not lead;

Just walk beside me
and be my friend.

These are the words that I have tried to live by in my life. I came across this quote at a crucial time of my life when I was in high school. I truly believe that life is meaningless and void without the blessing of friends. There are people in my life who I truly believe God sent to me for VERY specific reasons. I cherish these people and the light they have brought to my life! So today, do more than just remember a friend who means the world to you - tell them they mean the world to you!

The wisdom and words of others have greatly shaped and inspired my life. As part of this blog I intend to share some of that wisdom with those who visit here. I will routinely be sharing one or more of my favorite quotes or poems and then making personal comment regarding such things. Not every blog entry will have a thought, quote or poem but they will be frequently seen here. I hope you can enjoy them and benefit from these words of wisdom as much as I have.
